AETER

AETER

Founded in 2019 in Taipei by designers Yi-Lun Hsu and Chuan Lu, AETER is dedicated to creating sleek, modern designs fused with exquisite craftsmanship. The brand name derives from the Latin word aeternus, meaning “eternal.” We believe that eternity is achieved through the balance of design, structure, proportion, and material. Rooted in a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship, AETER draws from the founders’ background in industrial design, merging modern manufacturing techniques with contemporary aesthetics. The brand specializes in reinterpreting modernist and abstract geometric forms — through creation, construction, and spatial arrangement — delivering a design language that is both pure and honest. Our core philosophy, structure is decoration, guides us to eliminate superfluous elements, allowing each piece to return to its essential, harmonious expression. Sustainable Leather & Ethical Practice All leathers and materials used in our collections are ethically sourced — as by-products of the meat industry, from free-range farming, population control of wild animals, or natural causes. We use non-toxic, eco-conscious dyes, and our materials are free from AZO dyes and phthalates. At AETER, we express our fascination with modernism and geometric reconfiguration through the use of ethical leather, refining contradictions into timeless elegance — Unpretentious yet sophisticated, modest yet striking.

The brand excels at ""abstracting"" everyday objects, translating life's memories into modern designs. For example, a ""vase"" that holds memories of a mother's flower arranging is transformed into an elegant tote bag; a ""pegboard"" used for wall storage is reimagined as a geometrically playful perforated bag, continuing the story of the objects in a new form.

From pattern making and cutting to hand-sewing, each piece is crafted with the dedication of an artisan. The leather develops its own unique luster and textures with daily touch and the passage of time, making the leather goods containers for preserving time, truly bringing the warmth and craftsmanship of design into everyday life.
